PAYMENT POLICY

 

General Payment Terms

1. Payment Methods and Booking Confirmation:
For most bookings, you will pay for the rental online when you book. For some bookings, you will pay part of the rental at the time of booking and the remaining balance when you collect the car at the local office. Even if the rental is paid online, the main driver must present a credit or debit card in their name upon collection.

2. Credit/Debit Card Requirements:

• If your credit or debit card has a PIN number associated with it, you will need the PIN on collection.

  • American Express, Maestro, Electron, Diners, Non-embossed Cards, Prepaid Cards, Chinese UnionPay Credit Card: No
  • Cash: Yes (Accepted for both payment and deposit)

3. Data Confidentiality:
PepaRentCar is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of card data. By renting a vehicle, you authorize PepaRentCar Albania to charge your credit card for:

• Breach of contract
• Damage to the vehicle
• Car fines, fuel, not washing the car, and other charges incurred during the rental period

Foreign Exchange Rates

All rates are displayed in local currency unless specified otherwise. Optional extras and any remaining balances payable locally are charged in local currency. We are not responsible for exchange rate fluctuations.

 

Security Deposit

1. The deposit amount is obligatory and varies by vehicle category:

• CFMR, EFMR, IDMR: €350
• CDMR: €300
• EBMR, EDMR: €200
• IVMR: €500
• SVMR: €650

2. The deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit or debit card and released within 15-30 days after drop-off. Depending on the bank, there may be a delay in seeing the pre-authorized funds returned.

 

Deposit Usage

1. Full Collision Damage Waiver (S.C.D.W.):
If S.C.D.W. with zero excess is purchased, the deposit will only be used for damages not covered by the waiver (see contract agreement rules).

2. Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.):
If C.D.W. is selected, the deposit will be used in cases of damage or theft, with an excess amount ranging from €500 to €625 (see rules in the contract agreement).

3. Traffic Violations and Fines:
Fines or penalties for traffic violations within Albania or abroad will be deducted from the blocked deposit or charged to the debit/credit card. The deposit will cover damages or fees as stipulated in the contract agreement (Article 4.1/a).

 

Grace Period and Deposit Return

• The grace period for vehicle pickup is 60 minutes.
• If no damages or penalties are incurred, the deposit is returned in full within 25 business days after drop-off. It is held until checks with the state police database for any fines or penalties are completed.
